I have problems accessing my emails from the xfinity app

I used to able to open the xfinity app, touch the email blue button, and the emails appeared. It not longer works.  I must ask the Assistant for a link to my emails.  What is going on to require this work around?

Good morning @spacedrive, and thanks for visiting us on the Xfinity forums. Have you tried the following steps in the Xfinity app: Account > Account settings > Xfinity ID & Security > Comcast email > Go to inbox?

Good evening @Linda143, and thank you for reaching out on our community forums regarding your issues accessing your emails from the XFINITY app, our team will be happy to help troubleshoot. Are you experiencing any errors on your screen when attempting to access your email? Is the same issue happening if you try to access your emails through the Xfinity website instead of the app?

... xfinity app ... email blue button ... not longer works ...

If you can't find a link in the app, you could open https://connect.xfinity.com/ in a browser and then bookmark or favorite that page for future use.

@BruceW

I gave up on Xfinity and downloaded a third party app to quickly access my Comcast email. An alternative to a third party app is to add the Comcast email account to the Google phone's Gmail app. It is discouraging that we Comcast/Xfinity customers must institute a "work around" to simply read an email.

We apologize for any inconvenience Linda143, and would love to further troubleshoot this with you. Just so we can narrow down the issue with the app, when you have the opportunity, can you let us know if you can successfully access your Xfinity email through the website https://connect.xfinity.com/

I can access the mail from the link you provided.  The problem is the Xfinity app which is downloaded to my phone; it does not connect to the email, despite a blue button identified as "Check email."  My husband's cell phone app is experiencing the same issue, and apparently others are experiencing the same issue.  THe problem is the app, not accessing the email from the link above.

Thank you for confirming that the link is working Linda143. I am checking the app to help create an investigation for accessing our comcast.net email. In the app does the blue check mail button appear in the overview section of the app? I am not finding the button in my testing. I haven't tried to uninstall the app yet, but I have version 5.71.1, and I am using an android device with a primary log in. Do you have the same version? I know you found a workaround, but as you shared why have a workaround if the app should allow you to check your email as it offers.

Open the app.  The app poses the question, "Welcome back, Linda! What would you like to  do today? " Below this question appears several blue/purplish buttons, the first being "Check email."  This button takes you away from the "overview" to a blank screen with a gray circle where three white dots continue to move in consecutive order, left to right.  Eventually it times out.  I uninstalled and reinstall the app at least four times; nothing changed.  So, the most recent version must be installed as of yesterday.
