Future of Data Usage Widget

The Xfinity Mobile app is alerting me to the upcoming retirement of the app, and noting that mobile information is in the Xfinity app. The Xfinity app does not appear to have its own widget. Has anyone seen any indication that the mobile usage app will continue to exist after the retirement of the XM app? Better yet, is there any hope of an improved simpler widget that doesn't take up a whole line of my home screen?

Thanks,

Dan

Yes this  I used it to help track my family's data usage and adjust our plan accordingly. This last billing cycle we went over our 3gb And used a bunch more data while traveling and seeing family. Got hit with over 100 in extra charges

Yes  this was the best of all widgets.  Wish I had not updated to the new Xfinity app.

So far, the Xfinity Mobile app and its data usage widget continue to function, albiet with the annoying popup warning every time I launch the app telling me about its impending demise. I no longer see the app in Google Play, so I assume it is just a matter of time before it stops working completely. I still see no widget option for the Xfinity app. I rely on this widget to keep track of our shared data plan every month. As a backup measure, I have installed a third-party app on my phone and on my wife's that purports to provide a similar function (My Data Manager by data.ai Basics). Multiple data usage apps and widgets appear in the Google Play Store, but this it the only one I could find that tracks shared data across multiple devices. I think I tried it before but found that its usage totals differed enough from those of Xfinity to make a difference. If yo've found another app with widgets that tracks shared data, please post the info and your experience with it.

Thanks,

Dan

Agree, I don't need whatever other things the new app does, just need to continue using the widget to track data use. I don't care if it's a new app or the old one as long as it works similarly.

I get the conceps of moving everything into a single app, and I do use Internet and TV service in addition to mobile phone. However, the Xfinity app requires more scrolling and tapping to try to get to the relevant data I am looking for, rather than being able to see the info at a glance.

Thanks for your comment, @Karotladee. To streamline how customers manage services with Xfinity, the Xfinity Mobile app has been retired as of November 16, 2023. However, our Xfinity Mobile app features and functionalities are available for the Primary user on the account in the Xfinity app. Options that allow you to manage your account, view and pay your bill, and check your data usage are in the Xfinity app, including (but not limited to):

  • View and pay your Xfinity Mobile bill.
  • Check how much data you’ve used.
  • Switch between the Unlimited and By the Gig data options.
  • Manage your device upgrades.
  • 24/7 support, including Xfinity Assistant.
  • Enable features like Global Travel Pass and more.

You can Download The Xfinity App Here. Some account and device management features are not available in the Xfinity app and require signing in to xfinity.com/mobile as the Primary user. I hope this helps!

This did not answer anyone’s question. We need a widget to see our data usage quickly like we always had before. Please create one!

She won't answer because this is by design. It seems they are trying to push us off the Gig plans. Maybe the Gig plans are to aggressive and not profitable to them.

What SbThomas10 said.

We need the Mobile only widget, not the whole account where only ONE of us can check the phone lines.

Hello @Karotladee and thanks for the feedback, we will pass it along! In the meantime, from the XFINITY Mobile FAQ :

How can I monitor my data usage each month?
Keeping tabs on your data usage is a smart move. You can log in to your Xfinity Mobile account to view your monthly data usage in the My Data section of the Activity page online. Or you can use the Xfinity app to view Mobile lines and data usage in the Services tab under the Mobile services card.

And you can find more info located here.

Bring back the widget. This also sucks - I have two accounts and now have to hop back and forth to review things where as before I did not.
