I am getting error code 04036 when accessing Disney plus. I have tried to reset the box, system refresh, and cleared cookies/local data

I have this same issue. Numerous times.
This Disney+ has locked up on us with 04036 at least 10 times within the past hour. Rebooted the X1 box, the modem. No good.
Same for us locking up then giving the 04036 error code

Looks like another night of not watching DWTS on Disney Plus using xFinity.
This keeps happening to us too!! Forced to watch on the Roku. Can’t watch otherwise…
Reset system. Changed Disney Plus settings to use lowest possible bandwidth and save data. Never lasted more than 3 minutes before locking up. Was able to watch last night's show this morning, but can't watch live, and could not watch "from start" while others were watching live.
Same here. Cannot watch at all during the live show. I can only watch the following day.

Having a smart TV that also connects to our WiFi... We accessed Disney+ app through the xFinity Apps menu, and logged out of that Disney+ so that it's no longer a device accessing Disney+ on our account. We then used our Smart TV apps menu, not through the xFinity remote, and configured the Smart TV to sign into Disney+. That is, we are connected from the Smart TV app, and not through the xFinity Apps.
This method seems more responsive than through the xFinity Apps path. It is now 54 minutes into the live show, but we started from the beginning for no spoilers. It's been a solid 5 minutes with no lockups.

@user_977f5d I tried that a while ago, even updated the app. Still the same issue. cannot watch live stream of DWTS.
Same issue here for last two weeks with DWTS. I was able to watch it live the first 2 weeks, but not last Mon/Tue (10/17, 10/18) nor tonight, 10/24.
@RhondaDawson359 and @user_3979cd . If you have a Smart TV that is connected to your wifi and has its own apps, go through the Smart TV apps (using your TV manufacturer's remote) instead of using the xFinity Apps. See my 10/18 post after some feedback from @princessfelicia .
There were reasons that DWTS wasn't going to be watched live tonight on our TV. It was, however, set to Disney+ and it ran DWTS live by our Smart TV apps with the sound off for 10 or more minutes without lockup. It was still using our xFinity wifi and data, but not using the X1 box/apps.
No Smart TV? Unfortunately there are limited alternatives. Buy a Roku or Fire Stick device (if your TV has HDMI input), nag xFinity (which may never be resolved), or not watch. I'm not here to debate the fairness. I'm being realistic.
