Cannot log in to Xfinity App

I can not log in to the xfinity app. After getting a new router/modem combo sent to me from xfinity I need to access the app to set it up however I can not for the life of me log into the app. When I try my correct username and password combination (it works fine on the computer) I get prompt that texts me a verification code, I copy/paste that in to the prompt which then takes me to the infamous "Lets Try That Again - We had some trouble accessing your account..." screen.  It asks me to try again or use the "Chat With Us" feature which did absolutely nothing for me. 

Things I have tried:

- updating app

- uninstalling/reinstalling app

- log in and out on computer (account works fine on there)

- changing password

- log in using cellular data instead of WiFi

- having an unproductive phone call with xfinity support

Please someone help me. I keep getting spam messages from xfinity about setting up this device and something as small as a login bug is grinding my progress to a halt... 

I am using an iphone 15 Pro Max with iOS 18.6.2 if that's relevant at all.

Good morning @user_e71q5u, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity forums, I hope you are having a good Saturday so far. I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the Xfinity app, but you have reached the right team that can take a look at this for you. When you log on to the website, does it also ask for the two-factor authentication?

@XfinityJeff​ I am referring to the app. When using the mobile app, it takes me to my xfinity web page to log in with a  password prompt. I enter it (which works on when I login on my desktop). Then, after password it askes for the 2 factor authentication. I can choose either my phone number for a text message or an email. If I choose phone, I enter in the passcode sent to me and hit "verify". After this the app closes the webpage and takes me to the dreaded "Lets Try That Again" page I refer to in the OP. The same thing happens when I use the email 2-factor option.
