Xumo [Edited]
Xumo [Edited: "Language"], bring back prepaid tv services where we can watch what’s currently on tv and watch the networks we actually want to watch, that’s why we paid for it, not this bogus Xumo app

Not sure what you are complaining about. Xumo is a streaming service. If you want regular cable TV, then get regular cable TV service with a cable box, Flex box, or Xfinity Stream.

Please refer to photos of out TV shown here: https://donander.smugmug.com/Public/XUMO--Britbox
My wife saw an ad on TV that said the shows "Vera" and "Murder in Paradise" were available on Britbox. They are also available on regular channels but only the last two seasons whereas all 12 seasons of Vera are available on Britbox. She just signed up for a free trial and asked me (her IT guy) how she could watch it. We have a Sony smart TV we purchased about 3 months ago and I found that XUMO Play is one of the apps. Long story short, I was able to set this up and she can access all 12 seasons of "Vera". BUT there are two downsides. 1. She has to use the remote for the TV vs the xFinity remote to choose shows and navigate (FFW and Rewind etc.) inside a show. 2. The sound comes out of the TV speakers instead of the 5.1 system that normally plays sound from the xFinity DVR via our Denon receiver. This might be tolerable except she uses Sony RF headphones to hear the TV sound for 2 or 3 hours after I go to bed. These get audio from the analog out jacks on the xFinity DVR. The TV is mounted on a wall on the other side of the stairwell to the basement and the HDMI cable goes through a smurf tube in the wall around the stairwell, so it would not be practical to route the audio back to the Sony RF headphone transmitter.
xFinity does provide XUMO under "Free TV and Movies" in the "Apps" tab but the interface looks like the xFinity guide. You can only watch "Britbox Mysteries" that are on live at the time your are watching. You cannot access random episodes.
I thought about getting a ROKU box but looking at the XUMO interface screenshot at the ROKU website, I see it is the one that only provides live "Britbox Myseries".
Does anyone have any ideas how we could resolve this issue?
Thanks,
Don
