XR15 Remote w/ Yamaha AVR problem
My XR15 remote is paired to my Yamaha TSR 5790 receiver and an RCA 4K TV. Cable box is XG1v4, plugged into TV's hdmi, TV to receiver audio us using optical.
Power, volume work as expected, but pressing the Xfinity menu button intermittently switches audio inputs on the receiver after a couple of seconds (from the correct AV1 input to the incorrect AV1 input, which I've set to "skip" in the receiver's options, but the XR15 remote still switches to it. Frustrating.

Hello JONK1969. Thank you for visiting and posting on our Forum. I can assist with troubleshooting the programming of your XR15 remote for your AV Receiver. Do you happen to know which programming code you used to program your remote to the Yahama TSR 5790 AVR?

My Yamaha receiver does have an ARC input (which is the input being used for video from the TV).
My TV (RCA RTU4300) does not have ARC out. The audio output I am using from the TV to the receiver is optical.
I did not manually enter a code to pair the remote; I followed the Xfinity on screen remote pairing guide, selected YAMAHA for my receiver, and confirmed it was recognized.

@JONK1969, When you were initially setting up your remote, did you pair it with the TV first or your receiver first?
While troubleshooting, have you had the chance yet to reset the remote and try to re-pair with your equipment from square one?

I had same problem with my Yamaha receiver. I believe it is related to the XR-15 remote. I tried my old XR-11 remote and it worked on the first try. Xfinity technical support needs to fix this.

I have tried everything to pair both XR11 and XR15 to my Yamaha RX-V377 tuner with no success. A Comcast technician in my home also could not do it with the XR11 so sent me an XR15. Same issue. With XR15, POWER turns off TV but not tuner. POWER turns on TV only after tuner turned on with the Yamaha remote. Channel up/down, pause/replay/record, channel selector all work. Volume control does not.
Do I really need to use two remotes for this setup or is there a solution?
