Xr15 remote issue

After programming remote to TCL television and then to Visio sound bar the remote will not power on television only the sound bar. Menu button seems to be only thing that works from remote for television. Sound bar volume and power works properly.

@waverunner199 Uh oh! I know it's very frustrating when the remote won't work!

It sounds like you have already attempted to pair the XR15 remote based on these instructions, correct? Are there fresh batteries in the remote? If you need it in the meantime, we also offer a real handy TV Remote app, so you aren't stuck without while we work on getting this figured out :)

I also have this same problem.  I can program the XR15-UQ remote to the TCL-Roku TV (Model: 55P605-B) and it works fine.  I can then program the remote to the Vizio sound bar (model S3820w-C0), which also works fine.  However, the remote no longer turns the TV on or off (power button on remote turns off the sound bar, but not the TV). I have looked at numerous posting and online forums.  I see this problem frequently, but no solution.  HELP xfinity!

Hi everyone! Our recommendation in an event like this is to continue running through some of the additional pairing codes for your TCL TV, and eventually one of them should be the one that allows you to have the complete functionality that you're looking for. Let us know if for some reason you continue running into problems, we're here to help!

OK.  I will try the additional codes.  How do I program using the codes without going through settings, which will delete  the sound bar pairing?  I need to pair the remote to the TV without losing the functionality of the remote with the sound bar.

Just checking in. Were you able to pair your remote to both your TV set and audio bar? You can also pair the remote via voice (if you have the voice remote) instead of going through settings. Here are three ways you can pair your remote:

  • Press and hold the Microphone (Voice) button and say, "Program remote."
  • You can also get there by going to the Settings page, selecting Remote Settings and then Voice remote pairing.
  • Or you can use our online Remote Code Lookup tool or the Xfinity My Account app.

No.  I’m still having the same problem.  I can program the TCL-Roku TV with no problem.  However, when I continue and program the VIZIO soundbar the remote will not turn off or on the TV with the remote.  Once the soundbar is programmed, the power button only works with the soundbar.  Very frustrating.

Xfinity forced an update on my X-1 box after I unplugged it to move some furniture. After the update, I am no longer to pair my X-11 remote with BOTH the TV and the Bose Soundbar. After pairing to the Samsung TV it asks if I want to pair to the audio, when I say yes it just gives me a box to confirm. It does not allow me to enter any codes. Even without the codes, the remote pairs to the Bose soundbar. But as soon as it does this, it loses the pairing to the TV. So...like the posters above, I am only able to pair to EITHER the Samsung TV or the Bose Soundbar, but not both. Pairing worked perfectly until today. But after trying for a couple of hours now, I have to give up. Xfinity: please fix whatever got messed up with this latest update.

@user_0554a0 did you enter codes to program the TV? or was that done automatically like the bose soundbar?   Can you send me your device mac address found on the bottom of the device and the timestamp of when this occurred?

Can you try programming the remote to the Samsung TV using the steps below?

Program your remote using a code:

  1. Turn on the TV you are programming.
  2. Press and hold the “Setup” button until the status LED at the top of the remote changes from red to green.
  3. Type in the 4-digit or 5-digit code listed below using the number buttons. Additional codes may be found in the remote manual.

    Most likely code: 12051

    Others to try: 12280, 12281, 10812, 11632, 10702, 10060, 11959, 10766, 11903, 11060, 10587, 10329, 10814, 10650, 10482, 10032, 10030, 10178, 12284, 11575, 11597, 10427, 10408, 10217, 10090, 10056, 13118, 12278, 11581, 11454, 12253

  4. If the code is entered correctly, the status LED will flash green twice. If the status LED blinks red, then green the code was not entered correctly. Check that you are entering the correct code and try again.
  5. Use the remote to operate your TV (use Power, VOL, etc.)
  6. If these steps don't work, try another 4-digit or 5-digit code and repeat the above.

more info can be found at xfinity.com/remotes for more codes

I have the exact same problem with my Samsung tv and Bose sound bar. I am able to successfully pair xfinity remote to both devices so it works perfectly…ONCE…then the pairing is lost.   Seriously, xfinity needs to fix this.  I shouldn’t have to pair my remote every time I use it. The Samsung remote works fine, but I must use the xfinity remote in order to reach items recorded to my cable box. FRUSTRATING.

@jmulcaster Thank you for reaching out to the Digital Care Team. I hate to hear this has been your experience. We can not guarantee our remotes will work with third party products. Have you completed the pairing steps trying each code available?

My x15 will not pair with an LG TV.  New remote does not have setup button, and on screen pairing process does not allow me to enter any codes, just stalls at a searching for codes screen.

A) xfinity.com/remotes is not a valid url.  defults to xfinity.com/support/remotes

B) yes I've done that several times

I have also reset the remote to factory default several times.

The remote pairs with the TVbox OK, but does not pair with the LG TV.  The process does not allow me to enter an LG code manually.  It says I am paired with voice, but that does not work for volume and power on the TV

@catistheend  Thanks so much for keeping us in the loop.  Can you tell me if you have reached out to LD for more information on the codes?  I do know that some manufacturers have additional codes that we do not have.  How new is your TV?
