XR15 remote can't control volume

My XR15 remote stopped being able to control the volume, power, and TV input on my VIZIO tv two days ago. I have tried both a factory reset and pairing the remote multiple times. Neither have worked. I have not found any other solutions in the forums and am out of ideas. Do I need a new remote or is there a fix out there?

Hi @user_ericah! I appreciate you thinking of the Xfinity Forums for help with this remote issue. I like having one remote for everything, so I understand how important it is to make sure it's working! Have you also tried replacing new batteries in the remote? Sometimes low batteries can cause remote functions to stop or work intermittently.

@XfinityCassandra​ : That was one of the first fixes I tried. I have also tried with a new remote with no luck. I belive the issue may be that the IR reader on my tv is dead.

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
