xr11 vs xr15

Will the xr11 remote work with the newer xfinity equipment, specifically the XG1v4-A DVR? And can I trade my remote for one at xf store or online?

Also I have a newer Samsung smart Q60 TV and a 6-7yr old Samsung smart TV. Will it pair to those? (obv need two remotes)

The answer may be somewhere in a forum post I can't find a direct answer.

I have arthritic hands and it's hard for me to press the buttons on xr15remote; I have to use a pencil to press the arrow buttons.

TIA guys and gals

@Rustyben   I have been using it for a few months now and it's the same. A friend had a 11, was much easier plus the buttons were arranged better. I can order from amazon but it's like $35

I’ve been using my XR15’s for over a year and they haven’t gotten any easier to use. Sometimes I get a pointer finger I can barely use from the pain I get in using this remote. Would love to go back to the XR11’s. Do all the Xfinity stores still carry them? Can’t find any advantage to the 15’s.

Hello @bogeyman_4. Our store do carry a variety of remotes, but I can't promise any specific one. As the 11 is an older model, they may be out of them, but they should have a large button remote you may find more to your liking. We can always ship one as well.

@bogeyman_4 I agree with you. I have arthritis in my hands and it makes my fingers hurt. I find it difficult to use. We came from a Spectrum area and their remote was SO much better and easier to use. It was not voice activated but easy to use. I can't figure out how to record all of a program that has already started or how to make the guide go back an hour or two from current time. Anyone out there than can help?

All XR series remote will work with X1. Even some of the older silver or gray remotes will work. Obviously, not all support RF or voice.

My 92 year old mom has an XG2v2-S tv box and the XR15 remote buttons are impossible for her to use. In comparison, the XR11 remote is ADA friendly with its buttons (and voice command).  I was told I'll need to trade her tv box out in order for her to use the an XR11 remote. I want to make sure I understand exactly what TV box I need (or need to avoid besides her current XG2v2-S) before I go through the hassle of changing them out.  I'm assuming the XG2v2-P also will not work.  Can someone please advise? Thank you!

You do NOT need to change any equipment. The XR2, XR11, and XR15 will pair using RF with all of the current XG and Xi series boxes. They can also control older boxes using IR. Just go to a local Xfinity store and see if they have any XR11's in stock (I don't know if they have individual numbers that can let you you call ahead anymore.)

Thank you for your quick reply and clarification.  I actually bought an XR11 remote from a thrift store and tried pairing it after Xfinity customer service told me it wasn't compatible just to make sure what they were saying was correct.  It didn't pair so I assumed what they told me was correct.  Maybe the problem is I need to unpair her current remote then? Or use some other code for the XR11?

Thanks for you help -- it worked! You saved me time and hassle by not needlessly changing out her equipment. I truly appreciate it!

Thanks all, it's XR11 to infinity for me! You satisfied my curiosity to have the latest and greatest. I will clean it up and keep on.

Now if I can just get seperate buttons for off and on for my Onkyo audio, I will be completely satisfied.
