XR11 Remote and Sony TV

I set up the remote for my Sony TV, entered code 10810 and it worked correctly. VOLUME controlled the TV volume and TV turned the Sony off and on. I then paired the remote with my Onkyo receiver. VOLUME Switched to the Onkyo but so did TV. It no longer turned the TV off or on.

Can you try manually programming the remote? Codes and instructions are located here- xfinity.com/remotes

you’ll need to reset the remote first - hold the setup button for about 3 seconds then press the A button. That should clear the IR programming codes. Then try programming the TV and AVR using the codes at xfinity.com/remotes

Manually applying code 80810 for the Sony tv followed by 31805 for the Onkyo receiver solved the problem. Allowing the automated setup to pair with the Onkyo results in permanent failure that manually applying the Onkyo codes cannot correct. Only pairing with the Sony tv again will correct it.

@XfinityChad2 No. That wasn't one of the options. If I tell it to use a Visio tv with the Onkyo receiver, the TV button does not switch to my Onkyo receiver. If, instead, I specify a Sony tv and a Denon receiver, the TV button does switch. That seem to point to a problem in the 10810 code.

I borrowed the same model remote from a friend and it had the same problem
