XiD P box HDMI input and Chromecast

Is it possible to use a Chromecast 2nd gen through the XiDP box by plugging the Chromecast into the HDMI input?

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us regarding using your Chromecast Device. The Chromecast device is made to be used with your TV and should be plugged directly to a tv. You can use our Xfinity Stream app on your Chromecast device. More information on that feature can be found through this link https://comca.st/3Tb1SWG;

no. you would need a chromecast device or a chromecast TV device attached to your TV and then connect to that device.

OK, follow-up question - what is the HDMI input on the Xfinity XiDP box for?

Currently, the input port is not available nor recommended for use. It is possible that these ports may be active and useable in the future at this time, you are not able to use them.

I no longer work for Comcast.

the boxes are generic used by many different (cable) companies. the Cable companies determine what features are available and how they can be used by the end-user.
