@darkangelic is incorrect. Sorry to those whom have been misled.
The xi6 box (model AX061AEI) can absolute be controlled via IR. The IR windows (sensor) is on the front of the box at the top right corner - you can even see a series of several little black windows that almost look like miniature LED locations. We have never run into a comcast / xfinity box that we could not control - all of their boxes have IR capabilities.
I have a small business that specializes in Audio / Video and Smart Home design and installation and we regularly control this box without issue.
Don't hesitate to respond with questions... these are extremely easy to control.
@jav6joev What does tv model have to do with the location of the IR sensor of an X1 box
Actually, @DrKenny asked about 'xi6 cable box'. I assumed the cable box was the TV Box providing cable service to the TV which generally DOES have an IR sensor for the remote. I never asked what model TV he had.
@CCAndrew wrote: Oops I misread, the model is in the thread title
Hence, the confusion for me when I looked for manuals and couldn't find xi6 (turned out to be the same location of the link you provided). Figured the xi6 was one of the other make/models.

I can absolutely confirm this to be correct, as I tested my Harmony Ultimate One remote (in Remote Mode only) on my Xi6 and it works fine. Thanks for the info.

What is the make/model of your TV Box? Have you looked at/for the user manual?

The Xi6 doesn't have an IR sensor, which is unfortunate as I can't use my Harmony remote system with it.
