XG2V2-S versus XG2V2-P - having to reboot box multiple times a day

Looking for some help with an issue I'm having with my xfinity box. I recently upgraded to XG2V2-P due to not being able to log in to disney+, paramount+, etc. My XG2V2-S box was working fine with my TV but when I changed to XG2V2-P, I am receiving numerous error messages as well as every morning I wake up to my screen on the welcome screen. The box is not successfully updating overnight. In addition, when I turn the TV off for even just a couple hours and then turn it back on, I have issues with changing the channel and then get an error code XRE-03106 (this channel is temporarily unavailable). It also notes "auto-tuning to HD". I try again and it still doesn't work. The box then randomly searches through channels to try to connect but cannot and then forces a reboot. Once I reboot the box in the morning or when I have the issue described above, the TV works until the next time I turn it off or the next morning. I have changed out the HDMI cables 3 times and tried both HDMI ports on my TV and continue to have the same problem.

Is this a signal issue or a box issue or something else? I've had a tech come out a few months ago because I was having similar issues and the fix was giving me the XG2V2-S box and a new HDMI cable.

Any help is appreciated.

To add to the above... my current solution is to get a Firestick so that I can use the XG2V2-S box that seems to be working but use my Firestick for Disney+, Paramount+, ESPn+ etc. Not sure why my current Xfinity box can't give me those programs without having to purchase a Firestick to solve. I would think that I should be able to get all the apps I want with the -P box but it isn't working. Xfinity needs to find a solution for this!

what you describe is a bad xg2 set top box (tuners). do you need the hub feature of the xg2 to provide tuners to other set top boxes?

@Rustyben I only have one box in my house. Not sure if that answers the question

@Rustyben is an xg2 set top box (tuners) the same as the cable box? What solution do you suggest and how do I explain it to the tech?

if you have one set top box, it has to be one that has physical tuners in it (disregarding flex converted boxes a totally different subject). the xg2 and the xg1 DVRs have tuners. Swap that box at your local Xfinity store and it should clear up the problem.

@Rustyben thank you for your help. Should I swap the XG2V2-P box for on XG2V2-S box or an xg1 box? The old XG2V2-S box was working fine but it wouldn't allow Paramount plus, Disney plus, ESPN plus etc.

@Lh1372 Do not swap the XG2v2-P for an XG2v2-S. The XGv2-S is a box that is not currently supported by Comcast and does not work with many apps. Also, Comcast should not be passing that box out. The XG2v2-P is the current box that is being passed out by Comcast and should work with the current apps. What @Rustyben is telling you is to swap your current box at the Xfinity store for another XG2v2-P.
