Not at all. I thought when Comcast introduced X1 boxes they might make them "universal", but apparently not. I believe that their full cable boxes still use CableCards, and these need to match the head-end equipment each market is using. So my guess is that the only difference between a particular model "M" box and the same model "C" box is the type of CableCard inside. AKAIK there is no customer advantage to either one, it's just a matter of compatibility with their head-end equipment.

Well found out this when I went today to comcast store to return defective XG1v4 box the "C" stands for Cisco so the "M" must stand for Motorola equipment which I do live in a Cisco area but I thought those days were over with the SARA guide years ago.

Well found out this when I went today to comcast store to return defective XG1v4 box the "C" stands for Cisco so the "M" must stand for Motorola equipment which I do live in a Cisco area but I thought those days were over with the SARA guide years ago.
