xg1v4 replacement for xg2v2-p

I am helping a friend set up a TV audio system and having trouble with audio not playing over HDMI. It sometimes will start after a long delay of 5-10 minutes. He currently has an XG2v2-p. From my research, it looks like he needs an xg1v4. How do we get that swapped?

Before we begin, you can you please tell me if you there is also a third party sound system like sound bar?

It is connected to an AVR, the Monoprice Monolith HTP-1. An LG G3 is connected by HDMI to the HTP-1 and displays the video. The sound and video both work perfectly with other sources.
