Xfinity storm ready device

No you don’t have to have the battery connected for the storm ready to work.I got it in case my cable internet goes down, what’s the point if you’re power goes out and you’re tv doesn’t work and your iPhone or iPad runs off battery anyway.Besides in the dead of winter I’m sitting in my car or looking for somewhere to go to keep warm.Since I’m all IP my tv boxes still work.
