Xfinity Rewards

It said I can watch the new Maverick movie so I 'claimed' my reward last night and it said it would take a few hours to load and when I woke up it finally showed up but then I just went to watch it and now it says it's the original 1986 Top Gun .... what the heck. Thats dumb. I even watched the trailer of the new Maverick movie before choosing that reward. Where did my reward go??????

Same thing just happened to us.  Did they gix it for you?  Not a good first impression of the Rewards Program.

... now it says it's the original 1986 Top Gun ...

https://www.paramountpictures.com/ says "Top Gun: Maverick" will be not be available in theaters until May 27. No On Demand or streaming release dates have been announced, but industry observers are guessing that the those options won't be available until July, perhaps even later.

@BruceW So my questions is "Why are they saying that you can claim and watch it now, if you join Xfinity Rewards today?"  They then send you the old version and an email saying they are crediting your bill for $15.99.  I am assuming that is what I have been charged for the old Top Gun.  Very misleading and confusing.

The only offer I've seen is for "Top Gun", not for "Top Gun: Maverick". Are you actually being offered "Top Gun: Maverick"?

At this point, it does not matter.  At least I did not pay actual dollars for this 36 year old movie that I purchased when it was released on VHS.  Will wait to see if there is any value in the Rewards program before I judge further.  Thanks for trying to assist.

You need to look carefully. They may have used a "Maverick" banner, but if you read closely, it said it was to catch up and watch the original. They had a similar freebie for the original "Jurassic Park", as a tie-in to the new one coming out soon. I also got a free "A League of their Own". Plus, if you use Movies Anywhere, you can tie your Xfinity and other services to it, and you can view them on Vudu, Movies Anywhere, and several other services, if that service has rights to a particular movie.

There is no way Comcast would give away a movie for free that hasn't been released yet. This is how it looks in my Rewards history.

None of the images or text I've seen in email or on the Rewards pages (including the "Details and Restrictions" popup) mention "Top Gun: Maverick", only "Top Gun". It's great fun to bust on Comcast, and they make it sooooo easy, but I don't see them misbehaving here.

We have no purchase option for Top Gun. How do you access this movie?

Xfinity posted a Pre-order for Top Gun Maverick.  I bought it, and it was  $19.99   It says soon as it becomes available. Usually when you pre-order a movie it's about a month until you receive it.  I was told by a employee that it should be available to buy , and watch before Labor day. I'm thinking sometime in mid- August if I had to guess.. Hopefully they surprise us, and it comes out sooner, but it's still making a killing at the Box Office..
