xfinity dvr is really dark on shows the have night time scenes

This started happening when I got a new Samsung 4K TV.  The TV doesn't have this problem when watching other channels on the TV

or if watching shows on Netflix, Hulu, etc.   Two examples are "what we do in the shadows"  and new season of "Big Sky".

Yes, see my above comment "The TV doesn't have this problem when watching other channels on the TV", meaning channels on the Samsung TV that I am not watching through the DVR / cable connection.

Let's get your account pulled up so I can directly troubleshoot the cable box that is having the issue. Please send me a direct message with your first and last name, along with your complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.   

Here are detailed steps to direct message us:  

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary 
  • Click the direct message icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon 
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list 
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window 
  • Press Enter to send your message
