Xfinity box will restart, connect to tv for a few seconds, then automatically restart again

The other day we noticed that our Xfinity remote had become unresponsive. Could not switch channels, pull up the menu, etc. So we reset the remote and re-connected it. It had some connectivity but will still spotty. We pulled the power cable from the box, let it sit for a few minutes and then plugged it back in. Now the box will restart, connect to the tv for about 20 seconds, then it automatically restarts again, reconnects, then restarts again. We tried unplugging everything from the box. Tried resetting the gateway. Tried doing a remote reset again. Still nothing will fix it. So we are going on about the fifth day of the box constantly resetting on it's own every 20 seconds or so. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm sorry you're having problems with your cable box, @jrsharp21! It looks like your post was from a couple of days ago. Are you still having this issue?

@XfinityTimothy​ Hello Timothy, yes we are still having this issue. The box keeps resetting over and over.

@jrsharp21 I am sorry that is still happening. Please unplug your X1 box from the outlet for about 3 minutes and then plug it back in. Doing this can help reset things. Please let me know if that helps.

That didn't work. The remote is unresponsive to the box and the box keeps switching off and on again.
