X15 Remote and Hisense Amazon FireTV Control Codes

I recently purchased a 24" Hisense Amazon FireTV from Costco, Model 32A45NFC and am attempting to pair the X15 DVR remote to it. I have found two control codes under "Hisense" that control the volume and mute. I have also found two control codes under "Amazon FireTV" that will do the same.

What I have NOT found, is a control code that will do those two things AND also activate the "TV Input" button on the X15 remote, thereby allowing me to switch TV inputs.

Does anyone know one or more control codes that will also activate the "TV Input" button?

Ladd2 Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us here on our Community Forum. We suggest going here (https://www.xfinity.com/support/remotes) to locate available pairing codes.

@XfinityBenjaminM

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I had been there previously and tried every code available under "Hisense" and "Hisense-Roku" and none did what I wished. Hence my message above asking for a code that would work.

FWIW: there was no "Amazon" or "Amazon Fire" or "Hisense-Fire" to choose from, so no idea if anything there would have worked.

Hello @Ladd2, when you followed the link above and selected the remote type, did you try clicking Can’t find your device or brand? Try without a code under the brand section? If so, please follow those steps to see if that works for you.

I do not find a "can't find your device or brand" only the search bar and the alpha-numeric manual search selector. I also don't see how to move forward without selecting a brand.

... Model 32A45NFC ... X15 DVR remote ... control codes that will also activate the "TV Input" button?

It may not be possible. Google's AI says:

The Xfinity XR15 remote's ability to control the TV input for a Hisense model 32A45NFC TV is limited, as the remote's Input button only sends a signal to cycle through inputs but generally does not send an Enter or Select command to lock in the choice.
Limitations of the XR15 Input Button
The XR15 remote is primarily designed to control the Xfinity cable box and basic TV functions (power, volume, mute) once paired.
  • When you press the TV Input button, it sends a command to your TV to display the input menu and cycle through options.
  • However, it relies on some TVs to automatically select the highlighted input after a few seconds of inactivity.
  • For many TVs, including some Hisense and LG models, a separate Enter or OK button press is required to confirm the input selection. The XR15's center OK button sends a signal to the cable box, not the TV, meaning it cannot fulfill this requirement.
Potential Workarounds
Due to this limitation, you will likely need to use one of the following methods to change the input:
  • Use the original Hisense TV remote: This is the most reliable way to navigate to the correct input and press the required confirmation button.
  • Use the Voice Command feature (if applicable): If you have an Xfinity Voice Remote (which the XR15 is), you might be able to say something like, "Change to HDMI 1" into the microphone. This functionality may depend on your specific Xfinity service and TV compatibility.
  • Keep the TV on the Xfinity input: Many users just leave their TV set to the specific HDMI input where their Xfinity box is connected (e.g., HDMI 1) and use the Xfinity remote exclusively for all other functions.

There are currently no known universal codes that resolve this specific input selection issue for all TV models with the XR15 remote.
