Hi audioc! We appreciate you being a customer with us, and thanks for reaching out on our Xfinity Forum regarding this equipment/Mariners concern. Please know my team is always here to support you. To watch the Seattle Mariners (channel 1261) through Xfinity, you would need to have a Cable box. Please send us a Direct Message if you need further support with this. Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
 • Click "Sign In" if necessary
 • Click the "Direct Message icon” (upper right corner of this page)
 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 • Type "Xfinity Support" in the To line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 • Press Enter to send your message

I understand how to get the mariners channel on an X one box that was not my question. Can I get the Mariners package on a legacy box?

I get the Ms channel 1261 on my X1 boxes and on the Xfinity Stream app on other devices.  So, no, an X1 box is not required

BIslander - When it comes to enjoying Major League Baseball this season, we know how important it is to catch every pitch, inning, and big moment. Xfinity is here to help make that easy. With such a packed season I’m happy to share a quick refresher on the many ways you can follow your favorite teams and stay connected to all the action.

If you prefer watching MLB on TV, you can feel right at home with Xfinity TV. Nationally broadcast games are available on ESPN, FOX, FS1, TBS, and MLB Network with the Xfinity Popular TV package or higher. Regional games typically air on local broadcast channels, and customers can also explore the Xfinity Sports & News TV package for access to both national and regional coverage.
For baseball fans, MLB Network is a standout destination, offering live games, expert analysis, and the latest news. You can add MLB Network to your X1 lineup with the More Sports & Entertainment Package, which also includes favorites like NFL RedZone, NBA TV, and CBS Sports.
If you’ve added MLB Extra Innings to your X1 package, you’ll get up to 90 out‑of‑market games each week. These games are easy to find in the X1 guide or through the Xfinity Stream app, and you’ll also receive access to MLB.TV, allowing you to stream every out‑of‑market game live or On Demand on your favorite devices.

What makes it even better? Xfinity TV customers can stream games using the Xfinity Stream app, and many networks—such as ESPN and FOX—also offer their own streaming apps once you sign in with your Xfinity TV credentials. There are also several popular streaming services carrying MLB games, including some exclusive matchups:

MLB.TV: Stream out‑of‑market games, with select in‑market options available
Peacock: Home to Sunday Night Baseball, Sunday Leadoff games, Opening Day, and the Wild Card round
Apple TV+: Exclusive Friday Night Baseball games each week
ESPN+: Weekday MLB games
Netflix: Exclusive streaming for Opening Night, the Home Run Derby, and the Field of Dreams game

To stay on top of everything, Xfinity Sports Zone is a great all‑in‑one hub for scores, stats, news, and highlights. You can launch it quickly by saying “Sports Zone” into your X1 Voice Remote.
Xfinity is the best way to watch. You can use your Voice Remote to jump straight to team‑specific content. Just say your team’s name to watch a live game or view upcoming matchups. For quick stats or updates, try commands like “Phillies stats,” “White Sox score,” or “Mariners schedule.”
If you’d like help finding the best viewing option for your setup or favorite teams, we’re always here to help!
