X1 TV box

I have two X1 TV boxes, the larger one (living room) and the smaller one (kids room). I moved the smaller of the two to another room for football season and it will not connect to xfinity. After I moved it back to the orginal spot it worked fine. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you

It’s all through the cable, your Wi-Fi has nothing to do with it. Too many splitters or the wrong kind of amp or bad wiring can all affect the boxes

The third room obviously doesn’t have a live cable signal. Go backwards in your house to where your cables are all at and see and post what you have and troubleshoot from there. You’re going to have to track down the cable to that third room

Both boxes are wired, thats just how Comcast installed it.

The other room does have a "live" cable signal. It has a analog box in there and it works fine but of course has a fuzzy picture. So, I wanted to move the smaller X1 HD box in there for a better picture quality for the football season.

If your box has a cable port, it’s not a wireless box. DTAs can work fine with a not so good cable signal. X1 needs good communication between boxes. Again, go backwards and see how your house is wired(amps/splitters).

Thanks for the info. would you know if the X1 boxes commicate over Wi-Fi with each other? Maybe moving the smaller box to a different room was effected by low wi-fi signal.

Thanks again for your help. You mentioned the two boxes need good communications between them. Is that communication done through the hardwired cabling in the house or is it through wi-fi?

your answer to this question will help greatly on narrowing down the issue.
