X1 Screen Saver kicks in only when watching NEWSMAX

Is there a reason my cable box's Screen Saver only activates when I'm watching the NEWSMAX channel?  I can leave any other channel or for hours, even days, and the Screen Saver never activates.  Yet after only a few hours on NEWSMAX, the Screen Saver activates.  I have the XiD-P box and the Screen Saver timer in the setting menu is set to the max.

Hey, @user_5f4ea4! Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums! I apologize to hear that the screen saver kicks on while watching NEWSMAX. This is something that shouldn't happen as there is active content running (obviously, right?). I would suggest trying to do a power cycle on the box (unplugging the power from the cable box for 1 minute and then plugging it back in) to see that gets everything to sync up. Please let us know if this continues to happen.

Thank you for the reply.  I did try power cycling the box and set an external recording device on each box and the Screen Save kicked in after 3.5 hours.  This was in the middle of a 1 hour NEWSMAX show.  Actually, I tried this experiment on both my primary box [XG2V2-P] and my secondary box [XiD-P].  I've not experienced this behavior on any other channel.

Live commentary and documentaries.  I have not tried OnDemand.

@user_5f4ea4 Just to clarify, you mentioned you are using an external recorder correct? Was that just to catch when the screen saver kicked on, or is that why you need the screen saver to stay off? Are you trying to record the programming?

I use an external recorder to time-shift and place-shift my favorite shows.  I can set my recorder to record every day at a certain times to catch a week's worth of shows while I am away, but it is frustrating to come home and see 5 hours worth of screen saver.
