x1 recording back to beginning of program

On X1 is there a way to record back to beginning of a program that's been on the TV from the beginning, and can still be re-winded back to beginning. But the channel/program does not have restart option.

This happens often if I decide I like a movie, but need to watch later (or save for my wife), in its entirety.  Older Xfinity DVRs could do this simply by hitting record and it would capture program back to its beginning or last channel change.

Thanx,

The legacy boxes would back-record to the beginning of a program, or the beginning of the cached video if it didn't go back far enough.

X1 treats all recordings as 'from scratch' and does not transfer the buffer to a recording. If you have a true DVR, it just assigns a new tuner to start the recordings. With a Cloud DVR, it just starts recording when you tell it to.
