X1 is slow and horrible

I just finally switched to the X1 box and it's horrible! The FF and RW features lag and delay. The DVR playback flickers and the picture quality is horrible. The new remotes are horribly designed. I've read other complaints about this from a year ago and clearly nothing has changed. My old box worked much better. And I don't like that it has no digital clock on the front. You need a better design and product before everyone starts cutting the cord. Why pay over $200 for this?

Agreed!  I had to buy another remote on Amazon since the xr15 remote is so user-unfriendly but that does not fix the horrible interface on the screen.  It is dark and the listings are smooshed together with no options to change the color or the list view.  I would have kept the Legacy box as long as possible but of course they cutoff access to On Demand which included my purchases.  Comcast now has the same awful interface as AT&T and all other streaming services so why pay almost $300 a month for my bundle when I can get a streaming service for a third of the price.  All the interfaces on all services are now these ugly, dark screens which in the tech world is probably superior but most customers disagree and we pay their salaries!  And, my movie purchases I now have to watch in 4:3 aspect ratio format with the black sides around the picture which I didn't have to do before.  The old silver remote had an option to expand an SD screen to HD but that is also gone.  If Comcast is not going to listen to their customers (most of which are very unhappy on most blogs) and they are still going to charge way too much for these awful forced changes, then why continue with them?  In the end, it might cost them their business and it would be justified.

live in a community, instructed to get new xfinity equipment, new DVR box is terrible!  Slow response, much less and inconsistent buffer (old box buffered up to 90 min, this one 30 min max but sometimes no buffer even when left on that channel for hours), sometimes FF a recorded program and it just randomly goes back to beginning, they stupidly removed record indicator light on DVR, and my wife hates the new obscure design of remote.

@user_o36j1w Welcome to our Community Forum! Thank you for reaching out so I can make sure your equipment is running smoothly. When you check the coax connection at the back of the cable box and where it connects to your coax outlet, are both ends tightened? Is the box connected directly to a coax wall outlet or is there a splitter?
