X1 DVR OR XFINITY ROUTER
Hi...
I feel like I am going crazy! I have had 7 technicians out... because I hear a very loud/buzzing noise! I have been told by the technicians that I have Tinnitus. I have researched on my computer loud/buzzing noise and it brought up several remedies. This is also a symptom of an acoustic neuroma brain tumor. Which I had removed in 2001. I am trying to go through the process of elimination...I am about ready to go get an MRI to see if the tumor has grown back. Please help!

The router has no fan or anything you should hear so it’s not that.

There are times it's so loud I can't sleep. When watching TV I have to turn the volume up. After the tumor was removed I became deaf in my right ear due to the removal. So when watching TV my good ear only hears the higher sound which is the high pitched/buzzing sound. I am in a Condo so I don't want to turn the volume up to high... so I do not upset my neighbor's below or to my sides. I have read in the community forum that I am not alone in hearing this noise. Do you think it is the router or the DVR? Also should the Tech have brought a new router and DVR to exchange?

Also...My TV is about 11 years old (Sony) My Computer (Dell) is 4 years old and my printer (Eastman Kodak) is 11 years old. About 1 year ago I received a message from Xfinity saying I needed to update my router. Went into the store... got the router. The instructions said I need to create a WiFi password which I did. For some reason It seemed like these problems started after I changed to WIFi. What do you think?

What I can say for right now is... that the DVR is a new one replaced about 3 months ago. It says Xfinity on the top...has a clock and a Blue circle on the front of it. The router is black with several white blinking lights.

Hi there, bambi3. Thank you for posting. We can try and swap out your main box to see if that helps. It sounds like you're willing to do a self install, which is great. If we ship the box, that does come with a $15 shipping fee, otherwise the box can be swapped at the store. Before we continue, do you have a preference on the method for the swap?
