x1 box shuts off tv and receiver

Upgraded our X1 box because message said it was needed to stream a channel.  Old X1 box with clock worked great and wish we still had it.  New X1 box with remotes shuts off TV and Denon Receiver whenever you select Xfinity Menu on any remote.  We've tried rebooting and reprogramming the remote, with no success.  The same thing happens without our universal remote.  Can we downgrade back to the older X1 box?

Not sure I follow that ... what is "Xfinity menu on any remote"?

The "Xfinity" button.  I can talk into the remote to open up My Recordings.

There's a mic button for voice commands and a separate Xfinity button to get to things like the guide, recordings, apps, and settings.  Neither of them should turn a TV or AVR on and off.  However, when HDMI-CEC is set to On, pressing the Xfinity button will tell the AVR to power up and switch to the Xfinity HDMI input.  You could try setting HDMI-CEC to off to see if that fixes the problem.  HDMI-CEC is in Device Settings/Power Preferences.

We tried your solution (setting HDMI-CEC to off) and it worked! Thank you so much for this simple solution to our problem!

Glad that worked.  HDMI-CEC can be a useful feature, but it doesn't do much with Xfinity and can be a source of unexpected, unwanted switching.  I have it off on my X1 box.
