X1 box not connecting

Just got x1 box. Not connecting at all. Tells me check connections and I've do e that a dozen times. Everything seems to be connected correctly. No signal apparently. I have a brand new 50 inch Samsung smart tv.  TV is on a splitter with another and that works fine. Tired of something that is suppose to be easy..isn't!

Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon at the top of the page (looks like a text bubble)
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
