X1 box hooked up SD TV won't run Max

I have an X1 box hooked up to a Sony Trinitron TV. After On Demand was phased out, I'm directed to the Max app to watch an older Property Brothers episode and I get an error message saying I don't have an HD TV. Duh. Any work arounds? I can watch the current episode just fine.

No. The Max app will not install after giving an error message that I don't have an HD television.

Hi everyone, found out from Xfinity that I cannot get MAX on an SD TV through a $10 / month  X1 box.  Used to be able to get episodes through On Demand. They suggested I buy an HD TV, which defeats the whole purpose I guess. If going with an HD TV, it makes more sense to go OTA and use the $10 for a Hulu subscription.
