X1 Box Excessive Fan Noise

Woke up this morning to my cable box making excessively loud fan/HDD noises. I've tried resetting the box through the app and even unplugged it and let it chill for a while before plugging it back in. No help...still loud grinding noises. I've had the box for quite a while and it might need replacement. However, I can't seem to find a way to achieve that through the usual troubleshooting tools. An assist would be welcome.

only way to fix is to swap. is it a DVR? use voice command 'about'. what is the line just after STB version?

@Rustyben Yes it is a DVR in addition to a set-top box. I’m guessing at the source of the noise, but it did sound like a time in the past when I had a bearing going bad in a processor cooling fan on a computer I used to have…or conversely an old platter style hard drive that was going bad.

I assume you just want the model number of the box and not the rest of the info in that line…it is AX013AN.

could be the hard drive bearing (mechanical). see if your local xfinity store has an xg1v4 (solid state drive). the cooling fan is about an inch in diameter and so far very quiet.
