X1 box activation issue - error XRE-00251

I have an XG1v4-A box shipped by Comcast ~4 months ago that was never activated. It’s now showing error XRE-00251 and needs to be re-added to my account. The app and phone support only offer modem/router activation options with no TV box path. Need help getting this box re-provisioned.
