X1 Anyroom DVR with Xi3, Xi5 or Xi6 Box

I current have a TiVo echo system and know my days are numbered (currently trying to get a cable card repaired/replaced after a firmware upgrade bricked the one I been using for 10 years).  Trying to figure out a plan B and have a few questions that I can seem to find the answers to after searching this forum and Reddit.

I current own my own Netgear Nighthawk Modem (xfinity approved) and Wi-Fi router.

If I switch to a X1 DVR (main room)  and X1 NON-DVR HDMI ONLY (Xi5 or Xi6) in the other rooms, do the Xi5 or Xi6 have access to the local DVR recordings? Similar to the way the TiVo Minis are a extension of the main DVR.

I have seen only one or two posts that claim the X1 NON-DVR HDMI ONLY (Xi5 or Xi6) only access recordings from Cloud DVR.  I also understand that as of a few years ago that customers can now use their own customer owned gateway/modem, so that isn’t a problem.

Appreciate any clarification on how/what DVR recordings the wireless boxes have access to.

@krypto71077 Thank you for posting on our community forum so we can answer all your questions about our X1 boxes :). All the X1 boxes in your home will communicate with each other to give you a seamless experience. You can schedule and view recordings from any X1 box that's set up. You also have the option to use our Xfinity Stream app on compatible Smart TVs instead of renting equipment if that's what you prefer.

@XfinityEmilyB  thanks for the quick response!  Just want to confirm when you say "any X1 box" that includes the X1 NON-DVR HDMI ONLY (Xi5 or Xi6)?  I only ask because there is some conflicting info out there stating the Xi5/Xi6 can only access cloud DVR and not local DVR recordings that are on the main X1 DVR hard drive because of moca issues (those might have been resolved in the last few years)?

just want to triple check if/when I make the jump from TiVo to X1….. :-)

@krypto71077 That's a great question and please feel free to ask as many as you need :). You have 150 hours of X1 Cloud DVR storage for each X1 DVR TV Box on your account. If you exceed your limit, your most recent recordings will replace older recordings unless the older recordings are marked as "Save for 1 Year". @XfinityEmilyB  ok cool.  One last question.  So the X1 NON-DVR HDMI ONLY (Xi5 or Xi6) can access both Cloud DVR AND the local 150hours on the X1 DVR hard drive?  I assume there is a setting or menu filter on the Xi5/6?

krypto71077 both the Xi5 and Xi6 will act as a receiver if you have an X1 DVR. So, they will be able to access whatever service is operating on your DVR. This will include any recordings. This will all sync automatically.
