Idk but they really should. I can control everything in my house except my cable box. You can use an echo and fire tv or just the new fire tv cube to control your TV and then stream via xfinity's stream app, but I don't know how well Alexa works with that app. That is the solution I have for this at the moment. Not a great one, but hopefully Comcast will get with it and atleast make a skill for Alexa and the X1 remote... Emphasize atleast there as they should go well beyond that.
You’d think that Comcast would’ve gotten the hint already seeing how many other cable/entertainment service providers have already created Alexa skills to control their own systems. Guess Comcast thinks everyone can just use their voice remote and that’s good enough but the whole idea is being able to do it hands free. Not to mention their remotes go through batteries like crazy.
I don't know how well it will work for others but, go to The Play Store for Android or the IOS for Apple.
It is called "Anymote" and it does work with some wrangling and trying it out.

I was looking for something else here as the new Xfinity update has disabled my Alexa from controlling my TV. Any help there is appreciated. The update was approx. 3 days ago. Anyone?
Currently I’m using the Harmony hub with Alexa and it works well, but you’re still not able to access all the commands and my biggest grievance is the fact that Comcast has put forth no obvious effort into doing that you can see whereas all these other service providers have already gone ahead done it. Dish Network even has theirs available for both Alexa and Google Home. It’s no wonder why customers get so frustrated with Comcast.
Because they want users to use their stupid voice remote instead of using an already established voice control eco system... What's the point of voice control if I stil lhave to pickup something... Stupid...
I agreee it would be great if alexa and google assistant could work with the X1 boxes. I have a Sony TV and it will power on/off and change channels with voice commands (either google or alexa) and it can control the channels on the X1 box with it's IR blaster, but it can't start or control apps on the X1. That is something that would really benefit from integration.
