Will not record due to a conflict

I was just looking through my upcoming scheduled recordings on my dvr and noticed a few programs that have red dots with “recording conflict” listed next to it. If I click into the program line it just says Will not record due to a conflict. All messages are listed on the show Deadliest Catch. In many cases there is nothing else set to record at the same time, in other cases there are multiple other shows set to record.

I will say I’ve had issues with Deadliest Catch recordings in the past. I have it set to record only New episodes but it often records repeats too.

I’m considering deleting all the future recordings and resetting it up to record and see if that fixes it but I wanted to report it before I do that.

Replying to myself. I just read a few other posts with somewhat similar problems. I do have Deadliest Catch set up to record an extra 5 minutes at the end, since when I end it on time the end of the show gets cut off. There are 2 Deadliest Catch recordings set up to record back to back, one at 8pm and one at 9pm. The 9pm episode had the scheduling conflict error. I went in to modify the 8pm episode to end on time. Then went in to modify the 9pm to make sure it still had the extra 5 minutes added on to the end time. The conflict has disappeared and both are now listed to record. I will continue to watch for this error for future episodes. It should not give me this conflict error as there truly is not a conflict, but apparently you cannot have 2 recordings set up for the same channel at the same time even for just a couple minutes or you will get this error. If Xfinity was able to fix the problem many of us are having with ends of shows being cut off we wouldn’t have to add the extra time.

This is the same problem I am having I ask for an agent through the automated system all I get is to reset my box this is not a boxx issue but a issue with Xfinity themselves.

Hi @Midnight_Jinx, thank you for letting us know that you're having the same issue that @Dennisnlaurie was able to resolve!

If you have autoextend setup for the show, and the next show is on the same channel to start on a time within the autoextend range, it'll cause a conflict. The X1 schedules the recording based on the guide information that we get from the networks themselves. Does the solution that was proposed by @Dennisnlaurie work if you try it?

Hi, @user_a39577! Thanks for reaching out over our forums' page to let us know. I am sorry to learn about this experience with having the same problems. When experiencing this on different channels when recording, do you have them all scheduled to record for an extra 5 minutes?
