Will AX014ANC cable box wipe out all my stored media?

At Xfinity's suggestion, I ordered a new cable box to replace the old DVR box that Xfinity provided.  When I installed it, all my recorded media was gone.  How do I get it back?

z34jcm Here is an article that describes what happens during the process. What happens to your DVR recordings when you move or exchange your equipment?

It's too bad I was not made aware of the potential locations of the recordings.  I received the new AX014ANC TV box with no real instructions.  I installed the box and made it operational.  I then returned the old TV box (which I think was an X1 box) to my local Xfinity store.  Had I known that some of the recordings were resident in the old TV box, I could have done something before turning the box in on 2/1/25.  Some newer recordings are available now, but the older ones-the ones that I want to view now-are gone.

Xfinity should provide more detailed instructions with replacement boxes they send to their customers.
