why can't i rewind live show after watching saved show

you used to be able to go back 1 hour when you turned on the tv or you were watching a saved program on the dvr and then went back to live tv.  Now you cannot rewind. WHY???

We still offer the option to rewind live TV when stepping away to watch a recording or On Demand Program if tuned into a live channel. I recommend resetting your box to make sure it has the latest firmware, and follow the below steps to see if it helps resolve this for you: 

Press the Xfinity button >> Device Settings >> Power preferences >> and turn off "HDMI Device Control". Please let me know if either of these steps work! 

 

I also wanted to check. Are you getting any error messages about your box not supporting the feature when attempting to rewind? What box model do you have and is it happening on multiple boxes?

@XfinityStephanieK What is a "love" channel?  HDMI device control is turned off. I just turned on tv and could rewind 20 minutes.  I then watched a DVR program and went back to live and cannot rewind.  I don't know what boxes I have, when I check devices is just has the serial number and location. I do not get any error messages when I try to rewind. Why was this option taken away? Thank you.

I also found this information which may be the answer, but would depend on the type of box you are using:

BUFFERED PROGRAMS
Your DVR automatically creates a buffer of the program you
are currently watching. The buffer temporarily records up
to 90 minutes of the program and continues to buffer the
channel until you switch to another channel, turn off your DVR
or record a program. HD DVR information brochure
