Why can’t I record more than 2 shows at one time on newest X1 equipment?

What level DVR service do you have? I think the lowest level only allows 2 at a time. You need to pay for more storage and simultaneous recordings. The older box may have had an older code as the change was made only a few months ago.

I have no idea as to level of dvr service. No where on my plan do I see anything about DVR. 

If there is no DVR notice in your plan or billing, then you probably have the basic free service, which has very limited hours and the 2-at-a-time limit.

Thanks so much. Just found that I had standard dvr service which allowed 6 shows at once but only 20 hours which is ridiculous. Just upgraded to 150 hours so I will see if that fixes problem.
