When I press pause on a recorded show or on demand, it should stay paused, indefinitely.
I get that you can't ask for that on a live TV show, but on a recorded show, or an on-demand show, if you press pause it should stay paused, indefinitely.....Or at least an hour like the live TV does.
You can't tell me it is technologically impossible, as TiVo had that 20 years ago. VCRs in the 80's didn't turn on hte TV when you left it paused.
.
Why would one person want the TV to go back on? When you are in the middle of a phone call or whatever interrupted your viewing? This is just a nuisance.

As far as I know, anything you've recorded will remain paused forever. On Demand movies and shows are a different story. For some reason they will only stay paused for a short time - 5 minutes I believe. That's the way it has always been ever since Comcast first offered On Demand. I always wished they would change it, or at least include an option in the Settings to extend the pause time for On Demand, but they have not. I'm guessing it has something to do with too many people using up bandwidth at the same time.

It makes absolutely no sense that watching an on demand show would unpause. Scenario 1: I am working from home and I have a meeting so I pause the movie I am watching to attend the meeting. 10 minutes into the meeting while Im presenting to the CEO, the theme song to the office is blaring through my TV because xfinity unpaused my movie and went back to what I was watching on TV earlier. Now my CEO thinks I just sit around and watch TV all day. It makes zero sense. If you want to put a screensaver up with new Xfinity deals and whatever you want then I am all for it but going back to cable when we want the show paused is completely ridiculous and makes zero sense.

When watching TNT and I pause, I have to start the movie or show at the beginning again. Very annoying!
