I have the same problem My weather is showing approx 50 miles away from where I live and now I cannot even check the apps for my local weather because it is no longer there
Hi @Sunniah, I am sorry you have run into this problem. Thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. I personally live in a small town about 30 min. from a large city, and all my news/weather is broadcasted from that area. I can understand how frustrating this must be for you. I can certainly take a look at options available. Can you send me a private message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address? To send a private message click the chat icon in the right corner and select the shared handle "Xfinity Support" when prompted. We look forward to hearing from you!
I have complained about our similar situation years ago to Comcast, and i gave up--life is too short and cell apps are better. There are several options much closer than Maynard Mass. Our comcast channel lineup assignment is based on comcast's Bolton Mass lineup, so perhaps the comcast's reported location for weather channel local forecast choice is based on that. Not sure how they program that granularity.
Additionally comcast transmission (local-area head-end problems) several times a year results in groups of channels (not sure if it's coax frequency problems, or head-end reception problems) unwatchable due to pframe/iframe losses/jpeg pixelization and audio stuttering (same for friends across town, but xfinity online has a perfect picture/audio for the same time)... customer service is programmed to claim it's a house wiring problem and want to do a truck roll... It's futile to report. it clears usually after a day or so. I have quite a collection on youtube of examples. I wish there were a trusted-customer (engineer) communication path to comcast.
Over 4 decades, i've developed email relationships with several New England area TV station engineers who listen and appreciate technical feedback.
The closest for comcast to a professional contact was comcast's executive customer care in chelmsford mass., but they discontinued that. 15 yrs ago the last comcast truck roll we allowed resulted in a subcontracted company, and one of the guys CUT one of the wires in our basement claiming it was in the way! Truck rolls are risky.
