Can you check out this link: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-voice-guidance and let me know which step you're getting stuck on? If your remote is having connection issues in general and the keys are not working usually is due to a low battery. Try replacing the batteries in your X1 remote to see if that helps.
