The concern is not "Xfinity Knowledge Base" related. Thread moved here to the T.V. help section for assistance.

Hello there @baddog707 We're happy to help with your 4K questions. When you're on 4K content, what resolution are you seeing? You can say "4K' into the remote to find available 4K content.

The video output resolution 1080p60HD (best Available) stays the same for all types of content.

Xfinity Support information "4K Ultra HD (UHD) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) on Xfinity TV" indicates 4K UHD /HDR content requires Xfinity X1 XG1v4 (AX014ANM) or Xi6 TV box.

My installed box is XG1V3 ( AX013ANM).  Do I need the Cable box changed to XG1v4 (AX014ANM) to suppoort 4k video?

check the HDMI input jacks on your TV to see if one or more are marked 4k. be sure your 4k DVR is not connected to your ARC/eARC port. Did you try a different cable? Did you go to the TV menu and picture section to see if you have enabled 4k?

That is correct not all boxes are capable to display content in 4k. To view content in 4k you will need to have a XG1v4 for DVR OR XI6 non DVR. It would be my pleasure to assist you with getting either of these options swap. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue. To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send it

I no longer work for Comcast.

I have also had issues getting a 4K DVR box. I went through with several of them all promising me 4k. None of them ever output to 4K. I even went to the local store also with no luck. I’ve been a customer for more years than I care to remember. I have the Arris model AX013ANM which only allows 1080p. My current box just crapped out this weekend with boot errors. I’d like to get an actual 4K box. Thanks for any help.
