V4 digital audio output
My A/V receiver only supports stereo audio on its HDMI input channels and requires a separate digital audio input for surround sound.
Can I get digital audio off the cable out connector on the V4? The box I turned had many more outputs than this one.

if you can give a bit more info there are users here that can show you inexpensive breakout boxes on amazon for your particular need. do you need 'metal' connector coaxial cables or Toslink fiber cable? do you need the 4k output of HMDI that the xg1v4 provides or just 1080p?

I could use either one, if there were a metal output connector on the X1 box.
I am currently using optical fiber Toslink from my DVD player and have a second input available on my Onkyo receiver that I could use for the the X1.
With my old XFinity box, I was using a coax cable to deliver digital audio to the receiver. I'd prefer to have a metal coax connector, as that would save me the cost of getting another optical cable.
Can I go back to the XFinity store and get an X1 DVR with a metal digital audio output connector? Is there such a thing?

maybe someone here can tell us (I had several of the version 1, 5-tuner DVRs but can't remember the audio output choices. I think it had coax (the metal connector), too. if no one here can confirm, maybe drip in at your local Xfinity store to see if they have one to show you.
