Right now, I need to use the LG remote control to open the Xfinity icon on the TV. Once it is open, I can use the Xfinity remote to control all other functions

To use an Xfinity remote for your TV, pair it by holding the "Setup" button until the light turns green, then pressing the Xfinity button and entering the on-screen code, or by pressing "Setup" and typing in a manufacturer code. The remote controls power, volume, input, and voice commands once synced

I have two LG TVs and can turn them on/off with Xfinity remotes. Pairing allows the remotes to control power and volume on the TVs.
