I have set my daily update to happen between midnight and 2am so why does it sometimes (like once a week) update at a time outside this window (like 4am)?

Please check out Change the Daily Update Time on your X1 TV Box for more information. If you’re an Xfinity X1 customer, your TV Boxes will automatically restart once per day to ensure that you have all of the latest software. This restart, also known as the Daily Update Time, happens by default between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. local time.
