TV service box

something I do not understand when you get TV service from Comcast the service box comes with a controller.  you have to pay extra each and every month for the controller.  $12/mo.   if you add additional TVs to the service each service box comes with a controller and you pay the $12/mo for it as well.  I really think Comcast could and should provide the first TV on their service with a controller as part of the initial connection.

can I start TV service without the comcast service box?  and not pay the extra $12/mo.  it adds up over the contract time period and should just be included.

user_39053f  Thank you so much for your post with your questions about our TV boxes. The remote controls are not charged but are included in the description of your TV equipment. The $12.00 charge applies to the box itself. You can use the Xfinity Stream app in place of a TV box, but you would not have access to all the X1 apps that are provided, and your experience using the Xfinity Stream app over one of the boxes is different. I use the Stream app when away from home, but do prefer having my boxes in my home.

We do offer a Xumo box for customers who prefer streaming services for free with a one-time activation fee. With the Xumo option, you would only be billed for a TV box if you add a second box.

I only have one tv. I am online ordering and the bill says $12 for X1 tv box. Then it says service to additional tv with tv box $12. Is that right? I can’t seem to get it removed from my order.

Hi there user_5txcan! When you get to the final page of the order, does it reflect two $12 charges for two TV boxes?
