Hello user_jskrd3 it sounds like your voice remote isn't paired with the X1 cable box. There are a few simple steps to get this all going for you, and we'll leave these and associated Xfinity articles below. Let us know if these steps work for you! 😀

Step 1: Pair with your TV Box

Aim the Voice Remote at your TV Box.
Press the Microphone (Voice) button and say, "Program remote."
You’ll receive a notification that your remote is paired for voice control.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 2: Pair with your TV

When asked, “Do you want to use your remote to control your TV power and volume?" select Yes.
Use the on-screen keyboard to type your TV brand. Then, select OK.
When you see “Ready to pair”, select OK.
Try changing the volume on your TV using the remote.
If you can adjust the volume, select It Works!
If you can't adjust the volume, select It Doesn’t Work and try again.

Manual Programming- No Voice Function 

 Hold the XFINITY and Info (i) buttons for 5 seconds until the LED turns green, then enter the code shown on the screen.

Alternate Method

Press the A button to open the Help menu, select Remote Setup, and follow the steps.
