TV "echoing" volume changes

NO clue how this got turned on but suddenly if I mute/unmute or change the volume of the tv, it "echos" the command over the TV Speaker.  So it will say things like "nine", "mute", "unmute", etc  Does anyone know how to turn this off?

This is almost certainly a function of the TV set itself. On my Samsung TV, I can turn it on and off with the Samsung remote by pressing

I saw that comment on a different thread but the TV/remote hasn't been touched in months. I'll look at it but not real hopeful,  Thanks for the reply though!

Update:  It's not all functions, ONLY ones dealing with the sound. NO others "talk"..... I'm stumped

03bluecoupe, I wanted to circle back on this. My mind immediately went the route of @BruceW regarding Voice Guidance. Please keep us updated regarding your setting, TV, and any steps you've done since you touched based.

The set or the Comcast/Xfinity remote may have "glitched" and turned this Accessibility setting on.

That's more evidence that this is most likely a TV problem. As stated elsewhere, announcement of TV volume and mute state are performed by your TV set in response to commands sent by a Comcast/Xfinity remote control, not by the cable box (or by the Stream app, if that's what you are using). Neither one has any idea what the volume is set to, or whether or not the set is muted.

If the cable box is unplugged or its HDMI cable is disconnected (or if the Stream app is not running), do the announcements continue?

If you change the TV's input to anything other than cable, do the announcements continue?

If you post the TV set's model number, maybe we can help.
