"Try saying..." bar at bottom of screen stays on all the time.
How do you get the "try saying" bar at the bottom of the screen to turn off?

If the hint is still there after power-cycling your cable box, then we are most likely dealing with an equipment issue. You can absolutely take it in to a local Xfinity Store and request a replacement, if you like. I would also be more than happy to take care of it for you through private messaging, if that would be more convenient. Please feel free to send me a private message if there was anything I can do to help.

Greetings, @Chuckr426! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your X1 device, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.
Can you please tell me a little more about what's happening here? It sounds like this was originally a suggestion popup from a voice command, is that correct? How long has this particular one been stuck on your screen?

The "try saying" command popped up on its own several hours ago. Any idea how to remove it?

Unplugged the box and I still can't see the bottom 4" of the screen due to the "helpful hint." Any more thoughts on this problem or should I just take the box back to the Xfinity store?

I can definitely see how something like that would be annoying. You may just need to restart your cable box by going into the menu (Xfinity button) and selecting "Settings>Device Settings>Power Preferences>Restart". Please be aware that if you have an active recording in progress, the recording will be interrupted, so you may need to wait until the show ends, but if you are not recording anything, yo can do it right away. Please let me know if that helps.

I'm sorry to hear that wasn't effective, but it may just be a different issue than I originally pictured. Can you please try unplugging the power cord for your cable box from the AC outlet for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in?
