Trouble pairing new remote

I picked up a new remote from xfinity store today and tried pairing it with my tv because the last one was old and stopped connecting I am currently using my tv remote I have followed all the steps and still won’t respond to the remote

Hello user_oev1m8, thank you for taking the time to reach out here in our Xfinity Community forum. We appreciate your time, and I will be happy to help. I understand the remote not pairing can cause aggravation. Have you tried these steps:

  1. Ensure the remote has AA batteries installed and that your TV and Xfinity X1 TV Box are powered on, with the TV input set to the correct source.
  2. For smart pairing, aim the thicker end of the remote at the TV Box and press the **Microphone** button, then follow on-screen instructions.
  3. If smart pairing fails, hold the **Home** and **Info** buttons for five seconds until the remote light changes from red to green, then enter the on-screen pairing code.
