Thursday Night Football Prime Video Buffering constantly during game

Trying to watch Thursday night football on Amazon Prime Video and the game constantly buffers and freezes which is rendering it just about excruciating to even watch.  The sound also cuts in and out.   Yet when it’s commercial time all of the commercials play through without buffering once.  What is needed to rectify this issue?  I have only noticed the buffering issue whenever something is being played on Prime Video.

@Sabrina722 thank you so much for your post looking for help with the issues you are having while trying to watch Thursday night football on the Amazon Prime app. I was able to find a great tip directly from Amazon:  If you're experiencing any issues with video juddering/motion, we recommend turning the Motion setting on your TV to Off. This setting might have a different name depending on your TV manufacturer. Some examples of the Motion setting include Auto Motion Plus, Tru Motion, MotionFlow, Cinemotion, and Motion Picture.


If Thursday night football is the only program or shows you are having issues with while using the Prime app you may want to report it to them to get better assistance. If you are running into issues with other programs or shows while using the Amazon Prime app I would be happy to help look into this more with you. To start are you watching from an X1 TV box using the Amazon app there?

@XfinityAmandaB​ I am running into the same issue. I was watching the Thursday Night Football game last night using the Prime Video app on my X1 box and the game kept buffering and freezing. It does not appear to be exclusive TNF and is not exclusive to the Prime app. I also experience issues with Netflix where sometimes the audio does not match up with the picture.

Trying watch TNF and it is awful, constant buffering and now no sound. This is ridiculous. This has been a consistent problem with Prime but seems worse on Thursday nights.
